Customer Account Information

As a county office charged with collecting fees for services, it is our responsibility to ensure that we collect fees upfront for recording and copy charges. The Maricopa County Recorder’s office has the option for reoccurring customers to open an account to streamline how you transact your business with our office. This is the first step to electronically record your documents. We currently have over 1100 account customers and 88% of them are electronically recording their documents. Having an account will also eliminate refund checks for overpayment of fees that need to be researched and rejected documents due to insufficient fees. Having an account is a win/win solution for all parties.

Getting Started

There are three documents required to set up an account, Account Application, Memorandum of Understanding and the Public Record Request form. In addition a $300 check payable to Maricopa County Recorder which will be used to debit recording/copy fees from. Once we receive your application packet and check, we have your account set up within 24 hours. You will receive an email from the accounting team with your account number and instructions on how to log into your account on our website. If you expressed interest in electronic recording on your account application you will receive another email from our electronic recording team who will guide you through that process. This whole process will only take a few days.

When the account is established, the $300 will be posted to your account so that you have a credit balance. You can replenish the account by credit card online with your Visa/MasterCard, by ACH/Wire Transfer or with a check (account number must be written on the front of the check).

Another Option Available

If you record over multiple jurisdictions a "Third Party Submitter" may be the answer for you. A few company names would be Simplifile, Corporation Service Company (CSC), eRecording Partners Network LLC. Their fees or service charges may be offset by the postage you pay to send and receive your documents from us and you don’t wait 4-6 weeks for your original documents to be returned. And no more refund checks due to overpayment of fees.
